$29.99

You understand copyrights. You understand trademarks. You know the basics of comic book contracts and what goes into a page rate. You are now ready for the next level. Different creative relationships require different types of contracts. This starter guide will help you understand which contract will be the best fit for your comic book project and help you understand what goes into each agreement.

When you create a comic, you generate intellectual property. Who owns that property, who gets paid for it, and how they get paid depends on the type of contract you have. To create the best relationships with your creative partners, you need to have the right contracts in place. This starter pack of our Community Pro Lessons will get you started by highlighting the basics of collaboration, creator-owned, and freelance comic book contracts.

All four of these lessons are taught by Gamal Hennessy, a comics business consultant and attorney and all around great guy. Is there more to contracts than what you learn in this Express Course? Absolutely, but this is enough to get you up to speed on the agreements common to the industry.

You’ll get:

  • A few case studies to review
  • Tips and Trade secrets
  • Terminology
  • Basic understanding of film and television agreements as an added bonus.
