Express Course: How to Succeed with Creator-Owned Comics

$29.99

Maybe you can have your cake and eat it, too. Or at least have your comic and get it published, too. For many creators, giving up ownership or total control over their creations is a non-starter. But there are publishing allies out there who will publish creator-owned comics.

The five COMMUNITY PRO LESSONS bundled here are taught by comics business consultant and attorney, Gamal Hennessy and shine a light on how to retain your rights and still find a good publishing partner. You’ll learn about what Creator Driven Publishing is and how it works. You’ll get an understanding of Creator-Owned Agreements and contracts, how to pitch your creator-owned comic, as well as what Literary Agents can do for you and the power of the licensing potential. All of this is geared towards giving you control over your own work.

Want more for your money? Sign up to become a member of the Comics Experience Community at the Pro level, and you’ll be able to attend the live monthly lesson, participate in the Q&A portion, and also gain access to two to three other live sessions per month (typically a Q&A session, an online happy hour, and a demonstration presentation), and you’ll have access to all the news and analysis, industry discussions, crowdfunding advice and the awesome and uplifting community itself. This also includes access to the archive of all the lessons, including the ones bundled here. And all of that is for the same price as the bundle above. Learn more about becoming a Community Pro member here!

What is Comics Experience Community Pro?

Comics Experience Community Pro is an online community hosted by Comics Experience. The lessons in this bundle were originally live presentations we hosted online. The lessons you’re reading about here are from those live presentations, which is why they’re a little less polished than most course videos. In addition to a new Lesson like these each month, which are all followed by a Q&A session on that topic, we also host online work groups where we get together and all work on our individual projects, we have live happy hours, Demonstration sessions with comics professionals who show you their work as they’re doing it. There’s an online Discord that our members are able to access where we have fun and talk about comics creation and the business. We support each other, often prompting each others’ projects or crowdfunding campaigns. And you get analysis from industry veterans that you’ll find no where else! Sound like it’s fun and informative? That’s because it is! You can join it here!
