Jennifer de Guzman started out in comics as a publishing assistant at Slave Labor Graphics (SLG) and in within two yearswas editor-in-chief at the iconic underground publisher. There, she was editor for the early comics works of notable creators, including Gene Luen Yang, Faith Erin Hicks, Sonny Liew, and Sophie Campbell.
Jennifer remained at SLG until 2012, and then worked at Image Comics until 2015, managing marketing and publicity for the roll-out of titles like Saga, Sex Criminals, The Wicked + The Divine, and Bitch Planet.
Since 2015, she has worked as a freelance writer, published in outlets like Teen Vogue and ComicsAlliance, as well as doing freelance marketing and publicity work for the comics industry. She regularly appears on panels at comic book conventions and other conferences to discuss diversity, representation, and gender in the medium.
