Comic cons might seem like a chaotic blend of cosplayers, fans, noise, and merch, but underneath the excitement is an environment where comic creators can build their careers. But success at a convention requires purpose, planning, and patience. This course teaches you what to do before, during, and after the con to make the most of the experience.
Comic cons are often an explosion of fandom, with film, television, and gaming getting more of the attention than comics. The comic book professional looks past all the hype to connect with colleagues, find collaborators, learn about trends in the industry, and maybe even sell some comics.
In Conventioning Like a Pro, Gamal Hennessy provides a roadmap for the being a professional comic creator IRL. You’ll learn how to select the right con for your needs, how to prepare for the event, how to make the best use of your time, and how to turn meetings on the show floor into opportunities months and years down the line. At the end of this course, you’ll be prepared for everything a con can throw at you, from Artist’s Alley to BarCon.
You’ll get:
- Tips and Trade Secrets
- Terminology
- Outlines to plan for every event
