1) General posting guidelines
How to subscribe to threads of interest or get notifications of new topics
Click the “Follow this Topic” button (in the upper right of the screen) when you’re reading an interesting thread. You’ll then be emailed when someone posts to it. Or click “Follow this Forum” on the main forum to receive an email whenever someone starts a new topic. You can also subscribe to an entire forum or subforum the same way. To stop following, click in the same location to “Unfollow this Forum”.
How to include artwork and image links in your posts
The forums have limited space to house files. If you exceed your allotted space (usually a few very small files), you will be unable to add more files. To work around this limitation, you can link to any outside web address, such as files hosted on other sites, including your own, DeviantArt files, Dropbox links, etc. To include images in your post, add an image link (the Landscape icon). To link to an outside web page, use the Chain icon.
How to post work for critique
Briefly, artists can post work for comment on the critique subforums without reciprocal critiques (though they’re encouraged), and writers can post work for critique after providing four critiques to other writers. Critiques are encouraged even if you’re not planning to submit work of your own for critique soon. The full critiquing guidelines are at http://comicsexperience.invisionzone.com/index.php?/topic/3-critique-guidelines-rules-of-conduct/. To post artwork, follow the instructions above. To post a script, first go to the Downloads page and upload the file following the prompts. If you have difficulty uploading, it may be that the file format is not one of the compatible types (check the list on the upload page). Another known issue is very long filenames or filenames with special symbols in them. Once the file has been uploaded, copy the URL at the top of the window. Then go to the writing critiques subforum and create a thread for the script. Briefly describe the script and any specific feedback you’d like, then post the link to the Download page using the link (Chain) icon.
On the main forum, many members have Project threads. Those are intended to provide updates on projects in progress, rather than critiques on the work. Some projects will have both a Project thread and one or more critique threads.
2) Accessing live Workshops
How to join a live Workshop
Live Workshops on various topics are generally held monthly on Tuesday evenings at 9 PM Eastern time. The live Workshops are currently held on the Adobe Connect platform at so that you’re sure that your system meets GoToMeeting’s minimum system requirements. Beginning a few minutes before the start time, go to the URL, and you’ll be let in as soon as the Organizer of the meeting is there. Upcoming topics and dates are usually temporarily listed in one of the pinned threads.

Most recordings are viewable on computers and laptops meeting Adobe Connect’s minimum requirements. You will need to select the Vimeo recording option to view them on iPad and related devices.
How to find upcoming topics for scheduled live Workshops
These will typically be posted in separate threads as announced, but a current list should appear in the first post on the same thread as the links to past Workshop recordings, even though the posting date won’t change:

After 3 months, another trial membership can be requested. If the trial member joins within that 3-month period, the referring member is eligible for a free month’s membership.

How to change email address for Comics Connection Forums-related notifications
You can make updates to your profile by going to your page on the Member area of the forums. If you have trouble updating your information, contact info@comicsexperience.com. The email address you see on your profile page is not visible to other members, but is the one that Comics Experience will use to contact you, send private messages to, and send the weekly newsletter to.
How to address a skipped payment
If PayPal cannot process an automated payment, it should notify both you and Comics Experience of a skipped payment. Processing problems are most often related to an expired or changed expiration date on your credit card, a changed address, or an issue with funds in your account. PayPal usually tries to process the payment again in 5 days to see if the issue is resolved, and if it is not resolved in another 5 days, ends the automated payment. If you have difficulty identifying or resolving the issue, one option is to create a new automated payment profile by first canceling the automated payment as described above and then rejoining.
